Admission Notice/Circular of ASAUB Admission Test 2013-[y]-14 has been published here. To see notice click here.
To enter an undergraduate program in ASAUB, the applicant must satisfy:
- The university’s general minimum requirement for getting admission.
- Minimum requirement for each of the individual program.
ASAUB admits students with the potential of pursuing higher education. It welcomes applications from the students regardless of their gender, religion, age, race, national origin, social background, marital or parental status and disability. It is also committed to the principles of widening participation and encouraging applicants from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds. It may be noted that admission in some of our programs is very competitive and fulfilling the minimum requirement does not guarantee admission. ASAUB generally follow a policy of limiting the number of seats in a program which means that some students having eligibility often may not get admission.
Students who have passed SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations with at least two 2nd divisions or minimum GPA 2.5 in each (on the scale of 5) may apply for admission. For ‘A’ level students, at least 5 subjects in ‘O’ level with minimum GPA 2.5 and 2 subjects in ‘A’ level with minimum GPA 2.5 (A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1. Only one E is acceptable.) are required. If a prospective student needs further guidance on entry requirements, s/he may always contact the Admission Office in the fast floor of the campus: Tel: +88 (0)2 8114831, 8130283.
Emphasis on Business English
Students securing low marks in English in the Admission test shall have to undergo a vigorous training in English through English Language Proficiency Course on payment an additional affordable fee of Tk. 6000/= for entire semester.
International students who meet the equivalent admission requirements are eligible for admission as regular students and may acquire and transfer credits. In case of the latter, the minimum duration of study shall be one semester. The university may enrol foreign students under an exchange program or MOU signed between the two universities. The students are admitted in a specific program. We have a handful of Turkish students.
Admission on Credit Transfer
ASAUB may admit students who intend to transfer their credit, complete their remaining credits and graduate from ASAUB. Intending students can fulfill their desire if they meet the following:
- The title, content and credit hours of the course accepted as equivalent should be more or less similar to the corresponding course in ASAUB. A student may get exemption of courses after due consideration and recommendation by the Department and the Faculty.
- A student must complete the required credit hours and years of studies as applicable for concerned program including the credit hours of the equivalent courses already completed, for obtaining a degree.
- If a course/(s) is/are accepted as equivalent/(s), the grade obtained in that particular course will be counted as the grade of the corresponding course in ASAUB, subject to approval of Equivalence Committee.
A new student must complete registration formalities at the beginning of every fresh/first semester in accordance with guidelines issued by ASAUB. An existing student must complete registration formalities for the next semester according to the time period mentioned in the academic calendar issued by ASAUB. Without any clearance from the Accounts Section and/or any other sections (if required) a student will not be allowed to register courses for the next semester.
In every semester, date for registration will be notified. The students must be registered within the specified date. If a student crosses the deadline for registration of courses, s/he will have to pay a sum of TK. 250/- for doing so. All fees are to be paid at the time of registration through installments or as per the rules and are non-refundable except i) where the university fails to accommodate the student in a course and ii) where a student drops/withdraw from a course as per the Add/Drop and Semester Withdrawal/ Semester Drop Policies.

The credit hour semester system has been adopted in the academic programs of ASAUB. A semester involves 14-16 weeks of instruction. Courses may be of different credit hours. Each credit hour implies at least 14 instruction hours per semester. The credit hour system provides flexibility to the students to complete a required number of credit hours for a program, in which the number of credit hours in different semesters depends on the student’s choice and ability, and/or on a semester-based package. However, it may vary from program to program.
Considering the convenience of the student and the guardians, ASAUB adopts flexible payment policy so that all the students can continue their study and appear at the examinations smoothly. ASAUB considers the socio-economic condition of most of the parents of the students and has adopted a convenient payment policy for the student
A student should make careful financial planning so that, after admission in the first semester, S/he may cover all costs associated with his program of study in ASAUB.

The tuition fees are subject to revision. While the university will take all reasonable steps to avoid large increase in tuition fees, it reserves the right to implement such increase in fees it deems appropriate. Normally a student already admitted under the existing fee structure at the time of his admission shall not be subject to pay the changed fees. In deciding upon increase in tuition fees, the university will take into consideration such factors as inflation, market competition, government and funding council policy, and other external factors. Students on certain programs may be permitted to arrange to pay these fees under the university’s installment scheme. The university has no obligation to assist students with fees, except where these are paid as part of a scholarship or award made by the university. The payment of fees is the responsibility of the student.
In the event of a student’s sponsoring authority failing to make payment, the student will be held personally liable for payment.
